Exclusive new Hellboy short comic in USA Today (!)

Elsewhere on the site, they've got the entirety of issue 2 of The Storm put up, so if you want to avoid spoilers, be careful.

Anybody still around here? Is there another BPRD-oriented comics community somewheres around? (When Wild Hunt came out, we had a big discussion over on hellishness). It would be a shame if there are no Hellboy-comics-related communities active, right when Mignola's gearing the series up for the big finale.

Ooh! I hadn't seen that. Thanks for the link.

So far as I'm aware, this is about it on the BPRD side of things. If you find something that's more active, let me know. I want in. >_

Wow, I shouldn't have gone and queried for communities with "Hellboy" as an interest. You know there's a twincest and two slash comm's? *sigh* Even poor icthyosapiens looks like it's gone quiet, and I remember that one was really jumping at one time.

For updates and links and such, the Comic Resources Board is good. Just today somebody posted a list of upcoming comics releases by Mignola:

I haven't been on it enough to see if they really get into the discussions, or how well that works with the format.

I "liked" Mike Mignola on Facebook, and that's how I found the comic short I posted, as well as the interview with him on MTV. I also tried the "Join the BPRD" business, but it hasn't given me jack -- probably because you have to friend Trevor Bruttenholm on Facebook to unlock more, and I refuse to friend a fictional person.

For discussion, we had a great one on hellishness when Wild Hunt came out, but that was really just three or four of us getting enthusiastic. I'm facebook friends with two of them, though, and have been in email contact with the other, plus I know at least one other Hellboy comics fan -- they would join a discussion, I bet, say for when the Storm comes out in trade paperback form. I've already read it in installments, but I know lots of people avoid spoilers and hold out until the TPB. We could use this comm.

I know BPRD just had a new issue out, but I'm not up-to-date on reading that. :(

Hmm... I realized that The Storm, in its three issues, is going to be just the first half of the next trade paperback, while The Fury is going to run three issues and will take up the second half. So, who knows how long it will take for that all to come out, being that The Fury won't even start coming out until April or so. Plus, then this arc of the series will be over.

Have you read The Storm?

Me again... sorry...
The party's at the Comic Resources Board after all.

Here's their huge discussion thread on The Storm:

Plus many other interesting threads in the last few months... from an interview with Mignola on YouTube to a cake that looks like Hellboy's head... and I found it easy to sign up and post.
